BMW Motorrad

The history of BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle division of the German automobile and motorcycle manufacturer BMW AG, is a tale of innovation and resilience. Beginning as an aircraft engine manufacturer in 1916, BMW navigated through various challenges, including the post-World War I restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles, to establish itself in the motorcycle industry. By 1923, they introduced their first motorcycle, the R32, which featured the now-iconic boxer engine.
