2018 BMW R nineT

2018 BMW R nineT sits in the middle of BMW's air/oil-cooled boxer revival, positioned as the standard-bearer that spawned the Scrambler, Racer, and Urban G/S variants without any of their styling add-ons getting in the way. This is a bike built around that big boxer twin and not much else — no elaborate fairings, no touring pretensions, just a torquey engine, a simple trellis-adjacent frame, and enough attitude to make short rides feel like an occasion. It rewards riders who want to feel the mechanical work happening beneath them: the shaft drive clunks a bit at low speed, the cylinders stick out where you'll eventually clip a curb, and the riding position keeps you upright and engaged rather than tucked away. The 2018 model carried over without significant mechanical changes from the prior year, so buyers comparing it to a 2017 example should focus on mileage, service history, and condition rather than spec differences. Typical buyers are experienced riders moving away from modern electronics-heavy nakeds or older air-cooled BMWs, drawn to the analog feel and the moderate but real collector interest building around clean, low-mile examples of the 2018 BMW R nineT.
