The 2022 MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 5.5
The 2022 MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 5.5 was set to anchor the bottom of the brand's adventure lineup, a small-bore, A2-license-friendly machine aimed at newer riders looking to get into off-road-capable touring without stepping up to a liter-class bike. On paper it promised the kind of approachable, mid-weight adventure riding that rewards commuting during the week and light gravel exploring on weekends, with enough midrange torque to feel useful without overwhelming a less experienced rider. That's the theory, anyway. In practice, the 2022 MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 5.5 never turned a wheel outside development testing. Announced as a concept in late 2021 and slated for January 2023 production, the project was shelved once KTM's acquisition of MV Agusta reshuffled the company's model strategy. There are no year-over-year changes to speak of because there was no prior year, and no special editions because there was no production run at all. This one exists purely as a historical footnote — collector interest is essentially nil, and the only people tracking it are MV Agusta completists and industry watchers curious about the road not taken.
